The snow blankets the farmland,
a soft quilt stretched over sleeping earth.
The trees lie bare, their branches brittle and lonely—
no leaves to hold, no secrets to whisper to the wind.
The horses gallop in the pasture,
manes like wild rivers flowing behind them,
hooves drumming a steady song of freedom.
They pause, eyes glazed with curiosity,
gazing into the selfie camera as if to say,
Here we are, part of your story.
The farmhouse stands in the distance,
nestled against the pale horizon—
a quiet witness blending into the landscape,
steadfast, rooted in time.
The sky hangs low and gray,
the breath of winter,
chilling cheeks and fingertips.
But even in this cold,
the world hums.
The horses play,
weaving joy through the frost-dusted air,
their breath rising like soft clouds,
carried off into the sky.
I stand with them, feeling it all—
the stillness, the wildness,
the fleeting moment.
It’s a reminder, gentle and clear:
to live untethered,
to be one with the land,
to savor the now and run free.
In this quiet corner of the world,
this is my reminder—
I am grounded,
weightless all at once.
Here, with my horses,
I find peace.
