The Story: Bold Move
Is this a bold move or what?
There’s this lady in my neighborhood. We run into each other sometimes while walking our dogs. No surface-level chit-chat, always something real.
Today was no different, though this time she let her actions do the talking. I was mid-sentence when she reached out, took my phone without a word, and started typing. Her fingers moved with purpose, a slow grin spreading across her face, like she knew exactly what she was doing.
I’m putting my number in here. I don’t trust you to get it right, her expression seemed to say.
When she handed the phone back, her eyes locked with mine, calm and steady. No rush, no urgency. You’ll call. You’ll text. I know you will.
And then she walked away, leaving me holding my phone, wondering what had just happened.
